Wordle 1,186 4/6
READY (I don’t trust myself to not go down a rabbit hole, so I’ll hunt for consonants)
SIGHT (This is helpful. It narrows me down to LEANT, MEANT, LEAPT, or BEAUT. time for a sleuth word)
PLUMP (That solved it for me)
BEAUT
That’s how I feel about LEAPT and LEANT. “ED” is perfectly adequate for making those verbs past tense. Those are unnecessary and should be stricken from all existing text on the planet.
Don’t even talk to me about DREAMT.

GULLY, BULLY, BULKY had all been used. I guess BULGY is still out there, but Prince Caspian (the Three Bulgy Bears) is the only place I’ve ever seen it used.
With respect to yesterday’s solution, my main thought is, this is the game that Josh Wardle created. By now, nearly 1200 words in, we should have a pretty good idea of what words he thought were and weren’t in bounds. We know by now that he’s perfectly OK with slang terms, old (JIFFY) and recent (NERDY). “It’s not a word”? Slang words are words, and Wardle included a bunch of them. They’re part of the game. Best to just roll with it.

I’ve always preferred vowel-heavy starting words, but recently decided to mix it up a bit.
After the initial strikeout, I chose a second 4-consonant word at two. This strategy did not work well for me today.
BEAUT → That’s… not the letter I would have expected to hit with. With only one WoFcon down, I’d like to guess three more and an O, but I can’t find a suitable word so I go for an I as my other vowel
RUINS → Placed the U, but otherwise a strikeout. L is still out there, as are O & Y. I can’t see any O words, but there is one with a Y… and a repeat L, but I’ll try it
GULLY → Cool! D or F? Try F

My third guess was really lucky - probably 20 good words at that point, from Scoredle’s list, and I’d have been in a heap of trouble it it had been one of the others. Scoredle, btw, makes a great second guess and gets a birdie, also making the right guess of three remaining words on that third guess.

I know they never use plural nouns, but I couldn’t think of what else it could be so I tried plurals I could think of until I got the P, which made it make sense.
