HANDY
With 45 words to choose from, this was totally unexpected.
STEAM → Smal scale start. Would like to try R, N & L along with an O, but I’m not seeing it. I’ll keep the O and try another consonants
ADORN → Good guess on that try. If I put all thee known letters together at the end, i can try an L and another consonant, so
GLAND → That wasn’t it. DAN??, might need a Y here.
DANCY → Why didn’t I see CANDY? On the plus side, I eliminated DANDY, which makes the rest of this a lot less risky than otherwise.
HANDY
BANDY was still out there along with some bogus words. Scoredle makes a great play with a vowel hunt on 2, hits the trap at 3 and then gets a 1 in 3 guess to make par.

Started getting nervous there after 3.

READY. (Ooh, good shot at an eagle! Most likely are xANDY AND xADDY, with a slight edge to xANDY)
HANDY (And the crowd goes wil–oops, I forgot we were doing golf metaphors. And the gallery politely applauds softly!)

I saw HANDY but thought “Don’t fear the B” and went with BANDY. Oh well.

Well that was a bloody stupid 4th choice.
My excuse is that i was distracted by something on the radio…

HANDY → Slow start, but a WoFcon and two vowels gone isn’t bad. Two more of each coming up!
THEIR → Not bad, but still vowel-deficient. I’ll try an O… and I see one that requires repeating the T, which isn’t too bad here, so
TROTH → Gotta swap O & R, TOR?H gives me
TORCH
Beat Scoredle today, which despite getting the O with guess #2 finds the T rather late and scores a 5. My second guess was rather lucky, but fully justified IMHO, so I’ll take the par.
