Summary
With the S, L, A in yellow, the first word I thought of was Salsa, but no…the S is in yellow silly. So Balsa came to me next, but then I saw Basil and almost went with that, except I then saw Basal and Nasal, and so I thought I should check the double A. I had a few other words too, but just decided to go with the first word I thought of (after Salsa that is). Was surprised to see all greens!

Summary
There were all sorts of toys involving balsa wood when I was a kid in the early 1960s, from the simple dime-store balsa wood airplanes where you’d stuck the one piece with the wings through the slot in the other piece that was the body of the plane (any Boomer male surely remembers those) to mobiles, to more complicated models of ships and planes and stuff. Lots of balsa wood stuff back then; it was an extremely familiar word.
Maybe not so much if you’re an Xer or millennial? I don’t know.

This was my 500th game. Went back to check my previous stat updates from the original thread to try and see how much my current “plant score” opening stacks up to my previous “clamp store” strategy. I switched to “plant score” exactly 100 games ago.

Yeah, that tracks. My last 100 games have been significantly improved. One surprise is that my 3s were +10 over my 4s during my first 100 games; I would not have guessed that. Also surprised that my 3s were +20 over my 4s during this most recent 100 games. I knew plant score was better but not that much better. Then again, I can’t seem to buy a 2 to save my life, anymore.
