I was pretty sure Half_Man_Half_Wit wasn’t the only player who usually started off with today’s solution, and we’d see at least one more 1 today.
Now the tough question: do you keep on using that starting word because it’s a good starting word, or do you switch to something else because it’s not going to come up again until they start doing repeats?

I have a couple I more or less cycle through, this was actually the second time one of those hit. The one that already did (RATIO), I still use as a starter.
Yeah, I thought about that, but the chances of getting a “one” again are slim to none, and it IS a good starting word.
I don’t have a NYT subscription and so don’t have any firsthand experience with Wordlebot, but maybe the 4 vs. 5 issue today was easy mode vs. hard mode?

Yes it must be! I’m in hard mode and my WordleBot has it in 4. I see that wguy123 who says that WordleBot had it in 5 isn’t in hard mode.

Should have gone with Store > Chain like I was going to do, but decided to try for letter placements instead. I then went for Crape over Crane as there also was Drape and Grape to check. Wasn’t my day, though a 4 isn’t bad considering all the words this could have been.
With this answer word, I knew there would be a lot of great scores today…congrats to all that got them! 
Right there along with ya. Though I thought Goat meant “Greatest Of All Time”, and I certainly don’t feel that way today with all the 1,2,3’s. 
Wait…is there an option to toggle hard mode on and off? I can’t see options since I already played today, but I thought “hard mode” was just something we elected to do. I didn’t know it was an actual game play choice. And if so, Wordlebot should recognize I’ve always played in hard mode, even if I didn’t turn it on, and cut me a bit of slack.
Edit to add: LOL. I just went back and noticed a gear icon that I have never, ever clicked on. Hello Hard Mode! This is what happens when this is the very first thing I do in the morning while the water is boiling for the french press. Maybe I should start doing this after I’ve had a cup of coffee.
