TINES → Not quite what I was hoping for. Want to try A and O both here, and found a word that can do it
BIOTA → No help, save for elimination of another place the T could go. I think U is unlikely, but Y is still possible
PITHY → Nope, but I picked the best word to test Y with in this case

I was getting a little nervous there for a while - Scoredle has about nine solid possibles after my third guess, so a disaster was not unlikely. For itself, Scoredle does a great elimination with its second guess, then guesses my fourth guess for its third, finishing with a par,

PITCH → Whiff. So then I should have gone with either LONER or LASER, but I ended up with a combination of both
LOSER → Though I was happy to get that O, so missing out on the A seemed not so bad. Then, I should have tried an F next rather than doubling upon the G with
GORGE → But there was hence only one word left after three, and eventually I saw
BORNE

So my misplays didn’t hurt me much, though Wordle makes it a birdie (and actually, from its own start, gets a two!) If I had gone with the best option on the second guess, the only word left was the sole answer (though I might not have seen it for a while, frankly).

Damn, what a clusterf*ck.
I don’t know why I’m always in such a hurry to play this game. A little thought and a sleuth word would have helped me immensely today.
Though, in my defense, I had the bad luck to try pretty much all the wrong words before stumbling across the right one.
