Didn’t have enough info to even hazard a guess until after 3. Then I thought, ‘under’? Nope, the E and R are out. Then I thought of the old Guess Who song, ‘Undun.’ Not a real word, but ‘undone?’ maybe ‘undid’? So thanks, Burton Cummings, for the assist.

SNAIL → Pretty much has to be a leading U. R & T are still out there, I can’t find a word that covers both, so

UNFIT → Nor that one. Would like to try two different consonants here in the hope of getting at least one… UNBID? Oooh, might be better with a repeat, so take a swing at

Seemed like there were a scary lot of words that could go after that prefix, but it turned out my guesses narrowed them down signifcantly, and I had a near-sure-thing after four (assuming one word was bogus). Scoredle tries a word that checks all three remaining principal vowels for its second guess, then homes right in on the solution for a birdie. Good work by the algorithm.
