I’m super lazy and get easily bored repeating the same word everyday, I’d probably lose interest and quit playing. So I play waffle first and choose one of their words.
Wordle 1,536 5/6 — Tue 02 Sep 2025-09-02 STEAK COLIN UPDRY — it might be bight fifth fight might thigh tight twixt; previous Wordles have included fifth thigh; possible remaining are bight fight might tight twixt; letters to eliminate are B F M ; so try bumfs BUMFS MIGHT
Boy howdy, there’s a lot of 5-letter words ending in -IGHT, aren’t there?
At least my first two words eliminated LIGHT, NIGHT, RIGHT, SIGHT, and even EIGHT, but there were still BIGHT, FIGHT, MIGHT, TIGHT, and WIGHT to choose from, none of which had been used. (Couldn’t see any non-IGHT words, and Scoredle confirmed afterwards that that was all there were.) Couldn’t come up with a sleuth word to exclude any three of them, so I decided I wanted two of F/M/TIGHT, and hope that the other two were less likely. Fortunately, TEMPI gave me a hit on the M so I avoided a 5 or worse.
LEAST → For a really good start word, that was a little underwhelming. I’ll focus on the vowels over WoFcons and try
JOINT → Some help there. I’m guessing Y is out, but I can try R and U with
FRUIT → Looks like an -IGHT word. EIGHT, FIGHT, RIGHT, LIGHT, SIGHT, NIGHT are already out; could be BIGHT, MIGHT, TIGHT, and, uh oh, WIGHT. The first and last are fairly obscure, so I’ll try MIGHT
AMBIT would have been a good sleuth word on four, had I seen it. Scoredle falls into the trap with its third guess; it finds the answer in five, but has three nonbogus possibles left at that point, so the same chance I had to finish with a loss.
