CATTY → Whiff. Do we have a good first word second? I think so!
SENOR → Three letters, that’s good. L is still out there, and so are we (U and I - that pun never gets old!) and the first word I see with them included is
ROILS → It don’t run in our blood. But, we have a terminal S here, and since Wordle doesn’t like regular plurals or third-person singular, there’s not too many words left, and one of them is
GROSS
P is the start letter for a lot of the possible words left after my third guess, so I can kinda see why Scoredle chooses a word starting with it for its second guess. In the end, that guess enables Scoredle to score a birdie on a 50-50, a full stroke better than I did (also a 50-50, but for par).

Ouch; no I didn’t know that. Does NYT publish this hint or is it just what players have deduced?
I see on a wordle stats page that only 36 of 2,315 possible target words
have S in 5th position, MUCH less than it would be without this restriction.

The first two clues eliminated 7 of the most common letters and some
of the commonest positions of the 3 letters found.
Good? No. Not good at all. It would be much better to have a least one Green
letter to focus on.
I spent time thinking of possible words, but must have had a mental block.
OAKEN, PAEAN, PAEON were the first three words I came up with.
(I’d never heard of PAEON but Google mentioned it when I double-checked
the spelling of PAEAN.)
When OCEAN occurred to me, I typed it in without further ado.
(I even forgot to check the already-used list, where OCEAN appears.)
One Green. Whippee!
Demoralized I just typed fitting words as soon as I thought of them
and was lucky to get a Six.
