STRUT → That’s a bit less than I hoped for, including a wasted T. But I can now check E & A with two more WoFcons and be done with the latter.
LEARN → So R is the only WoFcon. I need to place some letters, so I’ll repeat the E with
EAGER → So at least it’s not one of those “doer” words. That’s good. But I still haven’t placed anything. ?REA? looks like a real trap in the making, but I have little choice but to go down it. Once more into the trap, dear friends…
CREAM → Sure enough. At least DREAM isn’t possible. But that D leads me to

“F or W?” was not the question I thought that a loss or a win would hang on when I started this puzzle. And really, I should have started with that final letter, although that would have still meant four possibles over three guesses, so also could have been a loss - indeed, my 4th and 5th guesses each knocked out a possible without me noticing it at the time. Scoredle’s first three guesses cut the valid possibles down to five, arranged so that a loss was impossible (and indeed, Scoredle wins with a par).
