i had actually typed in RURAL, and decided that MURAL was a nicer word, and would give me the same information. Oh well.

So, I went 98 days, geeked to get my 100 Day Streak badge, then completely forgot to play on the 99th day, and now I’m back to 0 days. I kinda wanted to give up on life over a Wordle badge. But, I picked myself up off the floor, threw away all the empty vodka bottles, and here I am… A brave new day dawns. 1 day streak and counting…

QUACK → Wow. That’s a much better start than I anticipated. With two vowels out, I need to exercise the WoFcons
LUNAR → Needed to double up on one of them, as it turns out

MURAL and AURAL were the two other valid possibles, so make it a 1-in-3 putt for birdie (and the same odds for a bogey). My followup was 4/185, so I’m not unhappy about my play (there were at least a dozen valids after the carryover). Scoredle also makes a birdie.

A little late for it now, but for future reference, if you remember in time, if before you open Wordle on your phone, you change the time zone on your phone to somewhere west of you, Wordle will use that as the time zone governing which day it is for you.
I actually did this once during my current streak: I woke up at 1am EST, decided to play the new day’s game, realized I hadn’t played yesterday’s game, reset my phone to Pacific standard time, opened Wordle, and it let me play the previous day’s game, since my phone now said it was 10pm the previous day. Kept the streak alive, went back to bed, changed my phone back to Eastern time the next morning, and played that day’s game, continuing my streak.
Obviously, how much extra time you can get to play depends on how many time zones are to your west between you and the International Date Line. But no reason not to use this trick if you need to.

Word two didn’t do much for me, but steady progress after that. A par’s a par.
Pro tip. And that would’ve worked too, because I missed the deadline by only an hour or two, myself.
Thanks, I’ll keep it in mind for next time.

after the first two words, it has to be CROOK, CROCK, CROWD, or CROUP. SPOOK will distinguish among those and give me the answer in 4. If I’d wanted to gamble on 3, 4, or 5, i could have guessed crock or crook.
