After 2, it was down to WRING (unused) and BRING (Wordle #164) so I went with WRING first. Since today it’s been exactly 3 months since the FTFNYT kicked off re-use of old solutions with CIGAR (Wordle #0) and this is only the eighth time since then that a previous solution has been re-used, going with unused possibilities first is still the way to go.

I thought including a D in my third guess would help split the field, but the wordlebot says that BRING (the one possible word that has both the G and the B that were just common among the possibilities) splits then just as well. So i wasted a guess.

I’ve used it a a few times myself; it’s bogus (not a valid solution) but sometimes it has just the right set of letters you need to make progress. (It’s a synonym of primp or preen, to mention a couple of valid solution words).

PLUME → Whiff. With E and L gone, a lot of good first guesses are gone as well, so I had to try a few words before I got one Wordle would accept
TORAN → Only I and Y left of the vowels, and RINNY isn’t a word, so I had to go only for consonants with
DRINK → Seems a bit trappish, but a lot of the consonants are already gone, so I go with the first thing I see
WRING → Which somewhat pays off, in that it leaves a tap-in
BRING
Scoredle starts recommending the answer with my third guess, so I think my skill level here was not high. Clearly I should have trusted… well, you know. On its own key third guess, Scoredle misses the answer by the last letter, but then converts the 50-50 par putt.
