ALLOY → Three letters found, one placed, and one known to not repeate - not a bad start! Since Wordle started out in Britain, I think I’ll try a word that skimps on letter coverage, but at least hits a WoFcon
LORRY → Nope - but placed the O! Let’s try one with an E next
HOLEY → Nope - and wrong, I knew the L couldn’t go there. Darn. I know where the L goes, anyway, so perhaps a double-O?
COOLY → Not that. Next, a word I think we already had, but perhaps its a repeat?
DOILY → Nope. Down to my last guess. And I’m at a loss. Am I about to meanly lose this?

I did, and I blame impatience. I really made a botch of this, though, looking at Scoredle. It makes two different recommendations for the best guess over the course of five guesses after my carryover - and I hit neither of them. I even had a 50-50 between valid words for my final guess and I hit neither of them. Ugh. FTR, Scoredle gets a birdie, thanks to a 1-in-5-valids putt.

I couldn’t even come up with a guess for six with the remaining letters I had. Nothing made sense. I would use one unused letter as my starting letter, then cycle through the unused letters at 3 to try to make a word, then go to the next starting letter and do the same. I was sitting next to my wife (who got it in five) and when I got to nobbly she started punching my leg. It helps if you pronounce it correctly…
