FENCE → Whiff. Sets up a good first guess second…
ROAST → Double whiff!! So here, I tried to construct words that hall all of L, U, I, Y and one other constant - and failed utterly. So I threw out U on the basis that it would be easy to look at U words if I know that I and Y were out, and settled on
IMPLY → which might be one of my best transitional guesses ever - from double whiff to four letters, one placed. But since my knee has been a little sore lately, I naturally went for
GIMPY → before I tried
WIMPY
Despite my followup being an anagram of Scoredle’s recommendation, it is nowhere in the algorithm’s top 120. Then, my guesses went 43/169 and 2/4 (so close!) before the clincher. Scoredle uses the vowel I rejected for its third guess; it misses, but elimination and placing the last three letters gives it a sweet par.

Lots of possibilities after 1, but all but ABASH and CRASH had been used, and of the used possibilities, only ABASE and CRASS were in what I call the ‘ripe to reuse’ zone (Wordles 1-199). I still prefer unused over reused, and barring reuse of a later solution, worst case with CRASH would be a 3. Got the best case instead.

Scoredle recommended a third guess for me (placing the yellow) that would have been much better, giving me the three middle greens and thus eliminating my nervous fourth guess. Even with that, I had little hope for the par other than sheer luck after the carryover whiffed. Scoredle gets that par, but has to win the cointoss for it; the algorithm’s luck was my “Phew”.
