TWIRE → TRI?E, TRICE is gone, TRIKE, TRITE, TRIBE, I think that’s all, so I’m safe? I’ve thought that before and missed. First I’ll try

Turns out I was safe, as long as I avoided the bogus possible. My followup was not in the top 120, third guess was 12/18, so more lucky than good today. Scoredle also finishes with par, slightly safer than I did as it guesses one of the trap words with its third and so the bogus word in the trap only would make a sixth guess.

TRIBE → That’s a great start. Could go with WoFcons, but in this case I’m going to try to exhaust the vowels early, see if I can pick up another one
RATIO → Placed the I, but otherwise no help. U and Y are left; I don’t see where the Y can go, the U invokes FRUIT but I already know the R isn’t there. OK, if I keep R & T in the first three I’m sure to place one of them, add one WoFcon (S) for the start and the terminal letter could be… P?

Followup was 14/55, final guess 1/4 and of the other three, two were certified bogus and the last probable. This one was all set up by a solid carryover. Scoredle also wins in three, though it did have one other probably valid word that might have been the solution.
