LEGAL, FECAL, and DECAL were what I missed on my perusal - so, a lucky ending for me. I should have gone with the last of those to minimize my likey score, as I could have ended up going the distance with the option I chose. Scoredle takes a bogey; it pares the possibiles down to six with its second guess (heh), then has bad luck with its guesses thereafter.

PEDAL → Well. There is one word right now that just jumps right out at me. Even though it’s a repeat letter, it does allow me to check two vowels. YOLO!
