A full week of fours. This is getting monotonous.
MAUVE is one of my start words, but I used it 15 days ago, so I wasn’t very close to an ace.

MAUVE
Gauge is one of those words I learned twice: Once spoken, once read. I thought the version I learned from reading was pronounced gog, like grog without the r.

GLUED
GUILE
MAUVE → Two vowels and nothing else. I immediately saw a word I figured I just had to give a try, even though it wasn’t the best word in this situation (NURSE would have been better by mu usual pattern)
PUREE → Well, at least I placed the U. But now it’s looking like a trap. I thought of possibles with the WoFcons, but couldn’t cover more than one per guess, so I tried
CUTIE → and that I was a stroke of luck. Heck, the next guess even had a WoFcon in it
GUILE
GUIDE and GUISE were also out there, so I could have hit six very easily. Scoredle finishes in three, via the lucky second pick of SURGE which leaves it with only two options.
