Words you hate people using

This is kind of an odd pairing (although you’re entitled to your opinion). “Copacetic” is an old slang that was hot in the 30s and may be making a comeback, while “cromulent” was invented by The Simpsons.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I ***really ***hate the word “issue” as a substitute for “problem,” e.g.

“This is an *issue *we must deal with.”

“We need to solve this issue.”

What’s wrong with the word problem?

I think it’s a corporate desk-jockey thing. A “problem” needs to be solved, and might require work on their part. An “issue” is something they can discuss in committees.
