A poster there apparently does guitar tech and restoration work for the Hard Rock Cafe’s collection and was asked to get a Stratocaster that Jimi used during the Band of Gypsys era into giggable shape. Now that’s a cool job.

Very cool. Thanks, WordMan. I’ll echo squeegee’s bafflement at the knobs on the J2, as well as the poster on the Gear Page who asked about the nut on the Strat. Looks like it’s made of wood!?!
Looks like a piece o’ s*** 80’s guitar that was laden with wacky active electronics and more switching options than any sane player would use…
I dunno…John Birch seems to be a bonafide luthier who made guitars for pretty famous people. I’ve never heard of Dave Hill before; I guess he likes really ridiculous switching on his axe?
Slade is a huge band mostly in the UK, but other places except the US. Quiet Riot’s hit Cum on feel the Noize is a cover of their tune.
Birch builds for a few guys in the UK, I want to say he’s built an SG for Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. But that doesn’t change the fact that some guitars get built out with waaaay too many features; unless you are a rockstar and need 27 triggers custom-built to load presets in so you sound like the recording, nobody needs that crap.
