Workmans Comp

I have a herniated disk due to a work injury. I’m currently trying to settle with an insurance company but they wont offer any more than $4000. I’m seeing a doctor and he says I could need to have surgery any time. My lawyers don’t seem to be doing too much. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the subject. I want to know how to get the insurance company to play ball. Are there any strategies I could employ? Please help, it’s been three years with little progress.

Have you approached Virgina’s Workers’ Compensation Commission? They offer mediation services.

…hey…I had a severely herniated disc(C5/C6)…it happened on the job(UPS DRIVER)…it happened in september and i tried all the normal stuff(anti-inflammatories,steroid injections, physical therapy, time)…nothing worked…i was in severe pain ,my entire left arm was pure agony…i had numbness, pins and needles through my left hand and fingers…finally in January,we decided to go through with the sugery(spinal cervical fusion)…they take a piece of bone from the hip, insert it between the C5/C6 and attach it with a plate and 4 screws…oh yeah they go in through the throat and move the voicebox around.its very painful…now its April and i’m just entering a “work hardening” physical therapy program…I also have 2 others that are pretty bad(the C7/C8 is going next,i have the pins and needles in my pinkie and ring finger)…the pain is gone from my arm and hand but my neck is still sore and I have lost strength and mobility…since it happend on the job,I havent seen 1 bill…and I get my WC check in the mail every monday(about what I brought home normally but I get to stay home)…I also hired the" UPS assasins" as lawyers(these guys are known for the UPS WC cases they handle…I would not take $4,000 if I were you especially before surgery(most times you wait until you return to work and then see about a settlement)…the first thing i would do is hire a new lawyer…the second thing is get a few more opinions from surgeons…are you in constant pain?..if so,I would consider surgery as it helped me…drop me a note here if you want my email or advice on a lawyer(i dont know where you are )…good luck
