Hm, okay, there’s a Three Stooges short featuring Shemp Howard that involves the ghost of a guy who snuck a peek at Lady Godiva, and being called Peeping Tom. Anyway, Tom was beheaded and somehow wound up in a suit of armor that the Stooges were supposed to move. The suit chases them around with a sword. It turns out that it’s just a story that the Stooges are making up to tell their kids (who are also played by the Stooges).
The title escapes me at the moment. Shivering Spooks, perhaps? I dunno. I used to know the titles and everything, dammit. 
Well, the Stooge short is called The Ghost Talks. Shivering Spooks is a Little Rascals short for crying out loud! I can’t trust my brain for anything these days! :(:(:(

And isn’t there an episode of Supernatural with possessed mannequins? There’s definitely an episode early on about the ghost of a girl possessing a painting.
