For delaying the game, very dumb mistake.
Argentina and Crostia go through. Really a nail-biter of a game, till the very end! Argentina showed serious defects but in the end their professionalism and experience trumped Nigeria’s enthusiasm and élan. A round of applause for Nigeria, though, for they proved their mettle and brushed the round of 16. They played well and with heart.
Round of 16 matches for today’s winners: Argentina-France and Denmark-Croatia. The first one should be an interesting match!
Argentina were pressing hard for that second goal, almost as though there was something important on the line. Like Mascherano’s head, for that grievous yellow in the box that almost cost them the game.
That last half hour, while Argentina wasn’t creating great chances, they were in solid control of possession and kept coming back again and again so that it felt only a matter of time till they would make the breakthrough which they did.

Yes, he would miss the QF game if he get another in the RO16. I think the single yellow cards are cleared prior to the semi-finals. Dumb, because someone else besides Messi should have sacrificed the yellow. Last WC, Thiago Silva missed the SF against Germany (due to an idiotic GK interference), which played a big factor (on top of Neymar’s injury).
I watched the 2nd half and Argentina looked pretty bad. Even Messi gave away important possessions at least 3 times. So was that a hand ball in the box, or not? While it went from the head to the arm, the arm was extended.
