Argentina were known to be defensively frail and France were known to be a quick counter-attacking team, something of a perfect storm and as Argentina push forward (as they must) there could be more.

I don’t think France will push for more (they are already starting to slow it down) but they won’t spurn all of the gaps open to them and Mbappe reminds me of David Rudisha at full bore, poetry in motion.

I was thinking that but Croatia beat Argentina more decisively.
Messi is a great player. But, frankly lesser than Maradona. And Pele. And unlike Ronaldo (though I’ll be contradicted in two hours) when the going gets really tough, he disappears.
