Home-field host advantage seems to be a bigger advantage in football, internationally, than almost any other sport. France winning it all at home in 1998, South Korea going to the semis in 2002, France going to the Euro final in 2016 and now the Russkies are just one good shot away from going to the semis at home.

I think it gives a boost but only so far.

South Korea: cheating and what about Japan?

2018 Russia playing well the last two matches but anything still possible.

Well, that bodes well for England. If they can’t get to the final now…

Whoever makes it will have played two 120 minute matches in a matter of days. And the way the players look right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if some players would pick up injuries.
