Congratulations Argentina! They were the better team and deserved to win, although must have the record for most leads squandered and still win the World Cup. And nice to see a South American team ring one up, as it’s been a while.
I was just thinking about watching the 2002 World Cup. When the game was over I was hoping to see a few replays and analysis and I really wanted to see the trophy presentation in all its pageantry but as soon as the final whistle blew (Brazil over Germany 2-0) they switched over to a infomercial for a ladder. Times have changed.
Everyone will be talking about Messi vs Mbappe and both delivered but let’s not forget Martinez. One of the greatest clutch saves in football history and then saved two in the shootout.
