Wulp.
Good night, thank you for playing.
Tactical masterclass from the Dutch
Oranje scoring looks methodical. Like a pass & shoot drill in training.
If US can sneak in an early 2H goal, it could get interesting again. A big IF, though.
The US is going to have to press now, stretching their already shocked defense. Just what the Dutch want. Still, the US has no choice but to go forward.
I wonder if Pulisic gets pulled. I love the guy but I’m not sure he’s up for this after his injury.
Why didn’t Reyna start? Is he still handicapped by his long injury time?
They say a 2-0 is the most dangerous lead. I’m gonna hope NED has started thinking about Argentina.
His general lack of playing time this whole tournament will be the most asked question of US Soccer if this result holds.
It is very effective, but a total snoozefest.
I like watching a team grabbing their opponent by the throat and not allowing them to leave their own half. The problem is that that burns energy and leaves you little room to maneuver. Look at Spain to see why that doesn’t work anymore.
Well, there was the opportunity for the early second-half goal.
Well, I was wondering about that too. I know he was injured for weeks at the beginning of the Bundesliga season, but he already played again for BVB in the last three games or so before the WC. He’s a wonderful young player, IMHO better than Pulisic at his age, so it’s a mystery.
I sure wish McKennie could pass better.
ETA: I’m not sure love-taps like that last one will work, Puli.
Looks comfortable for Holland here but, one goal changes everything, one goal can easily bring two and time pressure works both ways, balls-out pressing combined with clock-watching can be an interesting combination. USA need to better in that final third though, there isn’t really anything sustained from them at the moment.

¡Ep! ¡Cuidado! ¡Que llamo a Carles Puyol para la final contra Argentina!
Mientras no lo llames a Goikoetxea esta todo bien…
(As long as you don’t call Goikoetxea we are good)
No touch
There we go
And then that
oh my! looked like a fluke but that’s what happens, game on.
