World of Warcraft General Discussion

Seriously, begging is NOT cool. There are plenty of ways to make money in WoW. You’ve asked, there are logistical impossibilities. Go grind or pick or mine or skin and sell the product on the Auction House.

If you REALLY want WoW money, start a Horde toon on Cairne and join the Doper guild, Burning Dog Legion. But keep in mind that the guild is made up of mostly adults, who will not put up with drama crap, including incessant begging. They may set you up with starting money, but constant begging will probably get you kicked, or at the very least kept out of trusted status with the guild bank.

No. You’ve made a nuisance of yourself. Go earn it.

And I’m saying that there is no solution that will make people stop being jerks in game so you either learn to live with it (ignore it) or you switch classes.

I’m trying but you seem to be saying that there are no such thing as a healing or tanking class; that there are no defined class roles.

That would be a good idea.

When ever you log you can say “Hi” to the guild or say, “How’s everybody doing?” and if someone else logs on and says “Hi” or asks how people are doing you can answer back.

Another way to interact with the guild is to ask questions of them. Maybe about a quest your on or if anyone has seen the newest cool movie or whatever. There is a lot of general chit chat in my guild and some people participate and some don’t.

Also whenever someone in the guild gets an achievement you can congratulate them.

After a while of doing these things people will open up to you and be more chit-chatty with you.

Ding-ding-ding! We have a winner! There are no defined class roles in WoW. Roles are determined by spec, not by class. A Fury Warrior is DPS, not a tank. A Shadow Priest is DPS, not a healer. A Resto Shaman is a healer, not DPS. And so on.

Given that he joined the board solely to post his brilliant contributions in this thread, I’m inclined to think he’s not interested in being part of the community.

Speaking of which, I can’t wait to hit 80 on the Pally. I plan to start up a Horde character in the future, and it’d be nice to do it on Cairne. (I actually have a newbie Orc Warlock there, but I got bored with the class and moved on before actually signing up with Burning Dog.)

Twilly80: Calling people liars is not acceptable in the Game Room. If you have complaints regarding other posters, please take it to the BBQ pit.

Further, your entire posting history on the board consists of begging for WoW gold in this thread. While begging isn’t prohibited on this board, pestering people about it is seen as bad form. Knock it off.

This is not a formal warning. Persisting in this behaviour (begging, pestering other posters or namecalling outside the Pit) WILL result in one, however.

(Apologies to other posters for delayed response, have been moving and haven’t had net connection until now.)

My main stayed in Azeroth until lvl 62, simply because I had a large backlog of quests that I was trying to clear out before heading to Outland. I like long quest chains, but they can be annoying when you’re trying to clear out your quest log and each completed quest keeps leading to another one

I mentioned it in Burning Dog Legion guild chat last night, but I’ll mention it here too: Yesterday was a good day for my main (lvl 80 human pally, so obviously not a member of BDL) — she finally paid for Artisan Riding and purchased her swift flying mount! Man that is fun! It was a treat being able to quickly fly a straight line from Shadowmoon Valley to Netherstorm (okay, I could have done that with my “regular” flyer, but it would have been slower than using the flight points). I took the opportunity to fly all over Netherstorm, the only Outland zone I hadn’t yet fully explored, and got myself the [Explore Netherstorm] and [Explore Outland] achievements. Now I just need to explore Crystalsong Forest, Icecrown, and Storm Peaks to get [Explore Northrend] and [World Explorer]

Also yesterday (actually, the day before, I guess), Old Man Barlo finally gave me the “Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy” fishing daily quest, enabling me to finally get [[URL=“http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=905”]Old Man Barlowned]. I was getting really frustrated with him because I was checking every day and he just would not cough that one up. The previous five days looked like this: Felblood Fillet, Felblood Fillet, Felbllood Filet, Bait Bandits, Felblood Fillet. Then once he finally offered Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy, he offered it again the next day

And on top of all that, I also located and fished from the last few Outland fishing pools I needed to earn [Outland Angler]

Grats on the flying and fishing, Mister Rik!

My personal OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG news: Wall of Terror finally dropped for me!

Oh, and we finally kicked our RL into getting a regular Uld10 progression group going, and we started last Friday. Just one night a week so far, since we’ve now got enough people to regularly do Naxx25 and people are still getting upgrades from that. But one night a week is better than nothing when you’ve been Ulduar ready since it opened two months ago. Either they’ve really nerfed the hell out of things, or our DPS has gone up a lot since we last tried Razorscale a couple weeks ago, 'cause we tore through most of the bosses we had time for–several one-shots, and most of the rest only took a couple of adjustment wipes.

Razorscale had the enrage timer nerfed to 10 minutes. People were complaining that the DPS required pretty much meant you needed Naxx25 gear to get her down in time. Now it’s plenty do-able with Naxx10 gear.

Many of the other bosses got “adjusted” as well. Ignis had the interrupt shortened and the slag pot damage reduced, as well as a lot of other nerfs. XT had the tympanic duration reduced and the engrage extended. Kologarn had his eyebeam nerfed. And the Assembly had a lot of damage reduction.

I think the plan was to make it hard at the start (so the uber guilds wouldn’t QQ) and then make it a normal progression from Naxx10. If you have mainly Naxx25 gear then you pretty much already out-gear Uld10 (and shouldn’t have too much trouble clearing it).

Oh, and grats on the shield - very cool

My li’l gnomey got her chef hat today finally!

Okay, -I- thought it was cool.

IMO, the reason they’ve had to nerf it so much is the enounters were tuned by the feedback and data gathered from people playing them on the PTR, which naturally would be the top raiding guilds. Once Ulduar hit the live realms, those were no longer the only guilds running it.

Thanky! I loves my new fridge door, yes I do! Though I could do without so many effing faces on all my gear. Shield? Face. Shoulders? Face on each one. Chest? Face. Block set boots? Faces. Avoidance set boots? Faces. At least one of my pairs of gloves? Faces. Weapon? Face.

I just got mine last week, so I (admittedly biased) think it’s great! Grats!

I’m using the following for my Chef outfit, useful for standing around Dalaran looking awesome:

Chef’s Hat
Brewfest Dress (only item with an apron)
Brewfest Slippers
Cookie’s Tenderizer
Glutton’s Cleaver

And don’t forget to turn your Chef title on, of course!

I love Zangarmarsh. I have a hard time leaving it. Shattrath, on the other hand, gives me the same problems as the Exodar. I get so lost in there. I am making money really fast lately. Mob drop greens are selling well, and I’m getting lots of things that are in high demand. Also, quest reward money is higher now. I’ve pretty much stayed in Outland the past few days, going to Stormwind for auction purposes. Shattrath is pretty handy for portals, though; it beats having to fly back to the portal, ride to Nethergarde Keep, and then fly to Stormwind.

Man I burned dkp on two helms last night. I wouldn’t normally spend on the same slot twice in the same raid, but the second helm got me my 4pcT8. While I picked up a staff as well, once enchanted it’s only a mild upgrade (except to ilvl, where it’s a massive upgrade), highlighting how badly I need a decent weapon (I’m still using Life and Death, sheesh).

We messed up Hodir, missing hard mode by 2seconds. We might have made it if the watcher hadn’t called for dps off at the end. I’m annoyed with myself, I didn’t even break 6k on that fight while I was just under 9k on Vezax. The fights are so very similar from ranged’s point of view, I’m trying to figure out what I’m doing differently. I think I’m moving too much on Hodir, and I know that hunting for the breakout targets is taking me longer than it should. It may be that I didn’t get the chance to adjust my grapics for the fight (particle effect get turned way down, helps to see what’s going on better) due to getting home late and pulled into the raid before I’d even put down my bag.

Summer Festival starts on Sunday, and since we aren’t raiding due to Father’s day, I should be able to finish it on the weekend :). One more holiday after that, and then a purple flyer.

All this talk about 3.2 has me nervous. We had 6 months to get all of the 3.0 achivements for our mounts, which was relatively rare. At this point, none of the US top 1000 guilds on my server have more than two keeper hard modes down, and only one has Two Lights in the Darkness. I’d really like to see these remain for a month after the summer slow down ends. Then again, we may be nearing a threshold where the hard mode rewards we’re getting make the rest of hard modes more achiveable.

Gratz on the Shield Shot from Guns. Wait till you get a Northren Barrier, it’s not a shield with face on it, so much as it’s a face that’s a shield :).

Gratz Mister Rik on the achievements and the epic flyer… going from slow flyer to fast flyer + crusader aura was a massive boost. Now I just need to get my pally a 310% mount.

The portals in Shattrath are very nice. Dalaran goes one better, with not only portals to all the capitals, but a portal to Shattrath, as well. Which helps immensely with fishing dailies…you can grab the Northrend daily at the fountain in Dalaran, go finish that, then come back, port to Shatt, fly to the lake with Old Man Barlowe and do the Outland daily. Then go fly up to the lakes in Skettis to fish for Mr. Pinchy.

Grats

I wish I had stuck with the cooking dailies after I learned all the recipes; I could have had mine by now :frowning: As it is, I’ve managed to get up 70 awards, so 30 more days at most (which, given my play frequency of late, will probably translate to a couple months).

I did get my 4th Argent Tourney championship yesterday. Five more days for the last one, at which point I will get 7 more achievements (Champion of Silvermoon City, Exalted Champion of Silvermoon City, Champion of the Horde, Exalted Champion of the Horde, The Argent Crusade, The Argent Champion, Exalted Argent Champion of the Horde). And 2 more exalted factions, which will get me to 27…still a long way to go for The Exalted…

Woohoo! I’m assuming your 4pc bonus is something worthwhile, then?

Ouch. On the plus side, this has gotta mean you’re sure to hit it next time.

I forgot it was coming up so fast! Here’s to another meta getting check off the list.

I never understood the beggars. Between the quests and mob drops, they could make far more gold by ummmmm ya know, playing the game?

Hell, just going out and killing random mobs will pay better than sitting in IF or Org begging. There are gathering skills such as herbalism, mining, skinning. You can even sell the stacks of cloth you collect.

I don’t get it.

Too slow! Too slow! Aaaarrrrrrghghghghg!
MINUS 50 DKP! MINUS 50 DKP!
