One little thing they overlooked for this year’s festival: They cranked HH up to level 80 (elite), but when you get the quest it’s still labeled “(Low-level)”. So I got a nasty surprise when I tried to go solo him …
Is there any “rule” to which innkeepers you can “Trick or Treat”? It seemed pretty hit & miss to me. Or is it limited by that 60-minute debuff?
One more reason to despise people with Tundra Mammoths: Oh aren’t you just too cool, parking your mammoth ass in front of the water barrel while everybody’s trying to put out the fires.
I’m not clear on how you get the achievement for saving a village from the HH. I helped put out the fires in Goldshire, and looted the pumpkin head thing and turned the item in to the Costumed Orphan Matron. Is that something else entirely?
If you got the achievement last year, you won’t get it again this year. That confused me at first until I double-checked my achievements list - is that a possibility for you?
That’s it. My HH group had it drop twice yesterday, and I won the first one. I guess I can put my violet proto-drake away for a little while, since the broom is so cool.
I don’t suppose if I have a 310% flyer that the broom will go that fast too, like the druid flight form?
I’m gonna try to be on tonight after 10pm PDT, but don’t wait up for me. Is the HH instance similar to Coren Direbrew’s instances? Never ran HH before, so hopefully I’ll be there tonight to steal another mount from you buddy!
That’s what the debuff is for: an Innkeeper won’t offer you the Trick or Treat option when you have it. Otherwise, you can trick or treat at any Innkeeper.
That’s not people with mammoths; that’s just assholes. Report them for griefing and get as many other people as possible to do it, too.
Yes, it’s something else. You have to get the quest from the Orphan Matron before the fires are all put out. It’s slightly bugged–if you can’t get it at one town, go to another. (I couldn’t get it at Goldshire, but Kharnos worked just fine.)
Woohoo! Now go get the IronChef addon. (It equips your hat and switches your title to “Chef” any time you open your Cooking window, then swaps everything back the way it was when you close it.)
Yup, same kind of deal, except the Horseman is in SM Graveyard. You go in, get the daily quest one at a time, and when you turn it in, it summons him.
Basic fight mechanics are: DPS him down, then DPS the head when it flies off. Lather, rinse, repeat as the head reattaches and then flies off again. In the final phase, he’ll throw out four pumpkins, which will turn into adds, but you can ignore them (just have the tank pick them up) and focus on the boss.
Yeah, I’m still thinking it over. I like all three specs and there’s very good reasons to have all three, so it’s hard to decide. At least respecs cap at 50 gold.
I’ve actually got all of those. DBM’s installed, just not turned on. I’m using HealBot over Decursive or Grid, since it seems to work better for me (although I still need to tweak it some more), and I’ve had IceHUD a long time. I’ve been poking at the abstracts of raiding for a while now, I’ve just finally hit the point where I can start getting some practical end-game experience.
I love my Ret Pally too, but I’m probably a more casual player than you, and although I love doing BDL runs with my Doper Brethren, I’m not too keen on PUGs so I am doing a lot more BG grinding for honor, shards in order to get equipment that is 200, 213 and 226 level. I’ve been leaning heavy on Jarryn and Kahmu for the gemming and soon I need to lean on our enchanters once I figure how to get a hold of some enchanting mats, which to me seems ridiculous in price. I would love to see our guild get back into 10 man raids to bump up our guild presence. Last I checked, we’re around 146th when we used to be around 100th during the summer. I think we are close to having 10 players that could do some serious damage in the 10-mans, although I would hate to see Bosstone leave for another guild. Anyways, those are my thoughts, scattered as they are.
We’re talking about my Draenei Pally, not Nahren. I’m totally happy with hanging out in the BDL, and now that the Pally’s 80 I’ll start playing Nahren again more. I just want to satisfy my interest in raiding as well.
Yeti, Kene’s got the enchants you need (as does Muzungu I think). I can give you a price break on most mats as well, except for Infinite Dust which I never have enough of.
For me, my pocket healer is also an Enchanter, so all of my greens go straight to him to be DE’d, and he then holds onto all of those mats, as well as any shards that we get from running Heroics, etc. Is there a high-enough level chanter in BDL who you could have do the same for you?
You’re quite welcome! I looooooooooooove my IronChef, yes I do. Oh my, yes.
Hallow’s End had an eventful start in the pvp sense of the word.
Showed up in Brill when the event started only to find a welcoming committee of assorted high-end raiding Alliance guilds holed up in the courthouse and ganking everyone who tried to pry them out. They were seriously geared and out for bear, too.
Later on when a group of us guildies went into SM, we had heavily armed Hordies waiting for anyone who dared run in while flagged. Carpet of bones, indeed.
It took me a bit to figure out how the Southshore quests worked on Horde – it wasn’t clear to me until later that the keg gives you another quest to take back. :smack: So I got to run back and do it AGAIN (the first time, a grouped party member had gotten it and I figured it was complete in my log).
Let’s just say that in WG, I was out for bear. GNERD Rage was a bonus. At least I got plenty of kiting practice in, which is actually pretty fun as long as you have the room for it.
Oh, MAN. Is that the second quest for the achievement? I saw that the quest giver by the wicker man had a grey ! over his head, so I assumed I (my 27 pally) just wasn’t high enough level to get the achievement.
Guess there will be a naked run into Southshore some time this week.
I’m glad I don’t have to do those achievements again. The only one I’m missing is the Masks one. It’s not part of the meta-achievement, so I’ll probably casually try to collect them but I’m not going to stress out about it. Got female NE yesterday.
You have to get the quests from the quest giver for running into Southshore and egging the keg/throwing bombs. If you can’t get them, then yeah, you’re too low.
Wowhead says the bomb quest is 25, but the keg is 30. If you can grind to 30 before the festival ends, then you should be able to get it no worries.
FTR, the keg in question is on the entrance floor, back against the wall under the stairs. It’s the topmost one on the pyramid – it doesn’t sparkle so you have to mouseover it.
Dunno if you’re worried about dying to NPCs or to players, but in case you didn’t know, PvP deaths don’t cost you any durability.
It was originally part of the meta and the reason that I didn’t bother trying to complete everything last year (because I didn’t know it was going to be removed). There are about fifty billion masks, and you have something like a one in a million chance of pulling a mask out of any given bag, so prepare for this achievement to take about ten years, even if you can afford to take off work or school for two weeks and pump yourself up on amphetamines to log in every hour on the hour.
Ah, good to know. I was just :smack: over having run all the way in and out again, leaving a trail of corpses, and not noticing that I needed to grab a quest on my way out. So it turns out I didn’t. Which is nice to know.
