/jealous. Our guild is working on Anub 25 heroic too (and spent four hours wiping last night) but I haven’t gotten to go yet. Ah, well. I was there for the first four heroic 25 kills, so I’ll survive. Good luck to you!
I missed the server first for this one too (pauses to punch puppy) but I can’t really blame them on that one since they’d been working on it since before I joined the guild.
Sitting around last night listening to them do Anub was kind of hard on me, but things got better afterward–my DK tank joined a 25 man ToC normal pug and ended up with a couple of really nice pieces (the Hauberk of Towering Monstrosity and Dawnbreaker Sabatons–one of the other tanks offered to trade the boots to me for the bracers I’d won, because he had just crafted the Spiked Deathdealers that day and didn’t want to lose all the money. Since the crafted bracers are at or close to BiS, I jumped at the chance. Now tonight I get to have fun gemming and enchanting it all )
Helpful hint: be the only full member (vs. initiate) with an unhittable tanking set. If it makes you feel any better, you don’t actually get a title until you kill him with all 50 attempts remaining. So if you can just eliminate anybody standing in your way by the time they’ve got it down without wiping…
We actually had a guy transfer in with a key. Nobody on the server has completed all the necessary hard modes yet on 25. (IIRC, the only ones we need are Firefighter and Freya+3.) So it’s anybody’s guess as to who’s actually going in…
Heyyyy, I have those! **Very **nice pieces. P.S., how much better is the Uld/ToC boot model than the Naxx one? I hated those ugly things. These actually look like you could kick somebody’s head in with them.
Correct, next time. And **always **end an auction by canceling it–don’t ever try to bid it up to win it. Even if it’s not your intent, it could look like you’re trying to artificially inflate the price.
Geez we are still trying to get past Beasts on TOTGC 25. Heck we still wipe on regular Anub from time to time.
I thought HTOC 10 DPS requirements were tough, they are absolutely outrageous on HTOC 25. Its like everyone has to be almost fully TOC25/HTOC 10 geared. The healing requirement is almost unsustainable and tanks have their hands full trying to maintain threat when all the DPS is going 110%. Its insane. On the other hand. OTOH Killing Anub for the first time on any difficulty level is pretty satisying.
To be totally fair, there are a lot of situations where it would be cheaper to buy back the item youself than to have the auction expire and lose your deposit.
Hmm…I like your ideas, and want to subscribe to your newsletter.
Only problem is, my main is a mage. My tank is my alt, so I doubt he’d ever get to go since we’ve got far better tanks (who already have nearly unhittable tank sets).
We had a guy with a key too, initially, though now we’ve downed all the hard modes several times so it’s no longer an issue. The only other guild who killed Algalon at all (on 10 player mode only) had a transfer too.
I like the Uld model. Haven’t actually tried the new ones on yet (it was very late last night when we finished and I had to get to bed) and never had the Naxx ones. My tank set started mostly with the ToC 5-man gear and worked its way up from there.
I was very pleased to get them, though. I’m finding that I love tanking, so anything that makes me better is wonderful. Now I’ll be able to swap out my crappy Titanium Earthguard Ring for the Seal of Ulduar which has been sitting in my bank for ages because I couldn’t afford the def hit, and also get those bracers crafted. I think that will easily suit me very well for tanking anything up to and including TotGC-10 (probably not 25, though–not that I’d get the chance).
Heh! I’ve been meaning to try to position Wollkie in front of the AH mailbox, log out and log back in as Wolkie, sneak up behind him and goose him!
Wouldn’t work though, right? Time/space paradox;)? Also the account wouldn’t allow it?
No joke! I have had dreams of the two “bro’s” riding into town (in the same armor, the same horses) at a very slow pace with the music from “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” as the soundtrack. That would be awesome! (Also I have very vivid dreams!;))
Nope, apparently there’s another one, probably to fix the problem where you couldn’t launch more than one instance of WoW on the same machine (at least not in the normal way).
According to the comments in WoW.com, some people are having problems with it and some are sailing through just fine. I hope they get it all ironed out before I get home from work tonight.
ETA: Just wanted to add that the Winterspring Firewater which increases Wolkie’s size and attack ability, also (well, DUH, Quasi!) makes his Gryphon fly slower and himself heavier for Silka in addition to slowing him down just a tad.
I know I’m pointing out the obvious, but someimtes I’m just amazed at the "correct-a-ditity of the game!
You still move at the same speed, but since you are bigger, each step is longer so the game need slow the animation down otherwise the animation won’t match your movement relative to the ground.
If you use something the shrinks you, such as the Noggenfogger Elixir, your animation will speed up instead.
Thanks for the warning, Quasi. I wasn’t planning to play tonight but I’ll log in on both my computers just to get that patch out of the way so I don’t have to do it tomorrow.
Indeed. Play a gnome for a while and you feel like you’re zipping all over the place. Then switch to a tauren and experience for yourself the word “lumbering”
