But… then I would have to share plate drops! The last few weeks we’ve been running with a priest, a warlock, a mage and a hunter so I’ve had all the plate to myself.
Don’t worry, you can have the healer plate.
I am looking to move my 80 'lock and 65 tankadin on Cairne from my now sadly defunct guild. Is there anyone in particular I should talk to to join Burning Dog?
Excellent, Death! Just do a /who Burning Dog to find a guild member and tell them who you are and ask for an invite. There’s usually someone online who can invite you. It’s especially nice to have another 80, since some of us would like to be able to field a 10-man raid group.
Also, we’re a bit short of ranged dps, so doubly nice.
Brilliant - we will absolutely try that out this week. Just hope the lost DPS won’t cause the Gas Cloud to be up for too long… our raid DPS is getting much better (about 30 secs left before enrage on Festergut last week) but it’s still not top-notch. Thanks for the suggestion!
Lightbringer is my Alliance server, while Cairne is my Horde server. My other three servers mix it up a bit, but those are toons I almost never play.
My human pally went to Dun Morogh and bought up all the rams she didn’t already have, and got the 25 Mounts achievement.
Keliraeda is almost there - she hit 78 a couple days ago. OTOH, she’s gonna need to run a bunch of heroics to get geared (y’all in BDL will help me out with that, right?) But OTOOH (the other other hand), we’re fast approaching our busy season at work with all the weird, unpredictable schedules that go with it, so my availability will be a bit spotty.
sorry, I’m Alliance on Velen… don’t have any other toons…yet.
Sure. At the very least I try to run a random with Kene every time I play, so I’ll be glad to pull you along. I forget, are you Ret or Prot? If you’re dps, grouping with a healer will get you into a group a lot faster. If you’re prot - man, we would be in a group instantly.
Keli is ret. I’ve fooled around a bit with a secondary prot spec on my main (Eilyssana, the human pally), but I haven’t put in enough time on it to really know how to work the spec.
Sounds good. If you decide to try Prot on Kel later on, we’ll try to get guild groups together for you to practice with - takes a lot of pressure off.
Finally got all my tradeskills to 300 and moved on to Outland to start leveling the DK. God, it’s expensive to level cooking, with the recipes you have to buy…
Unless you do it during the Pilgrim event! My 'lock was only level 12 and she was able to level cooking up to 300 just from the holiday recipes. Sadly, that’s the only skill anywhere near her current level (56).
At a lower level (cheaper gear and usually only carrying the gear you’re wearing, as opposed to a higher-level character who has better gear and/or may be carrying more than one set), the repair cost actually isn’t that bad. Thanks for the reminder that you can do that–I’ll have to keep it in mind for some of my lower-level toons.
I was *pretty *sure you hadn’t mentioned it before, but I’ve been known to miss things. Now and again.
I’ll try to keep an eye out!
When I was still with them (March of 2009, I think I left), OOT was running with probably about 200 characters across 100 accounts. So, enough that you’ll run into them here or there. Not to be confused with <TiME>, the raiding guild.
Either of the guilds I’m in, you wouldn’t have seen, 'cause they’re teeny-tiny. I’m literally talking a handful of people, and the four of us whose toons make up the bulk of the membership have our mains on another server (currently Stormrage). R6:8 started as a cross-faction alt guild for some OOT people, so there are a couple of people who occasionally play their toons there, but not many. I don’t think we’d have even a dozen people there who would even be as active as “sign on to check mail once a month.”
Yet.
Have you looked for a Cooking/Fishing leveling guide? The two tend to work well with leveling together, and most of those recipes, while they would be expensive on the Auction House, can be bought for reasonable prices from vendors. People gouge when they post because they know that a lot of people just can’t be bothered to look up where the recipes are found and/or run out to get them.
I’ll second this. I never started Cooking on my main until she hit lvl 80 (simply overlooked it until then - until she was well into Northrend I was ignorant of all the wonderful buff foods out there). I followed this guide here and had cooking leveled up in no time at all, for not much money. Scroll down for the actual guides - there’s an Alliance guide followed by a Horde guide.
Totally. I’m actually a little disappointed that Cataclysm will allow flying in classic Azeroth now; I’ll have less reason to bring out the ground mount. Oh well, I’ll enjoy it until then, and I can always bring it out in the cities to show off.
In Dalaran last night there was a row of folks lined up on their Mammoths. I stood in front of them with Anzu and cawed at them. I like to think they were cowed by my display of sheer WoW manliness.
I guess “expensive” is relative. I took myself down to silvers a couple of times buying recipes from vendors (Yancey whateverhisnameis in Booty Bay has recipes I needed for 1g or 2g or 2g50s). Since I pretty much went straight from Acherus to tradeskill leveling so I wasn’t lagging while I leveled the DK (I always hate seeing so many fel iron and cobalt veins in Outland and Northrend and not being able to mine them), I didn’t have MUCH gold at all in the first place.
Yeah, that was back in 3.0.x, before Ulduar released. Naxx and Sarth 3D (25) were on farm for us for a looong time. I do need to get around to getting that damn raven mount. I just spend all my free time playing alts instead of going back to that terrible, terrible instance. Ah well, sometime soon, after I get all my T10 perhaps.
Yeah, the zerg was a faceroll. Kind of sad, thinking about how incredibly hard that was before we outgeared it by 4 or 5 tiers of gear. For the orange oozes, I think it just depends on how solid your ranged DPS is at switching targets (which will be an absolutely necessary skill in ICC), but kiting through the melee just makes that one part of the fight (which can easily lead to a wipe if handled poorly) that much easier. YMMV.
I think flying in Azeroth will be awesome. Having just finished the Elders quest, running around out there is death.
I was getting pretty frustrated as to how to finish off teh Deadmines quest, being unable to assemble a group and all, when I realised you can specify which dungeon you want to queue for in the DF! Things will be so much easier now! VC is toast and I got a new blue shield and sword. Have dinged a couple of times to 26. Things should be somewhat smoother now.
Grats Wanderer! Yeah being able to select the dungeon you want is an important feature of DF. The Random selector is wonky – my lock levelled all the way up to 55 and never got put in either Zul’Farrak or Sunken Temple – it was Mara and then BRD all the way, until I specifically chose Temple to get some quests done.
Last night the Burning Dog Legion took down Underbog pretty handily. I finally figured out the problem I was having with Bartender, so that went much better. We didn’t really have any problems with any of the pulls that I recall, and the only time we were in trouble was on the final boss (who killed our healer and two dps). We didn’t even stop to drink more than once, in a group of 100% mana users – my pally, our two priests, mage and hunter. I didn’t get any great drops, although I did get a decent cloak – it seemed to be a lot of mail. We completed the quest for the missing druids, too.
Next Wednesday: Mana Tombs
