Guilty as charged. I couldn’t help it, the well is just sitting there practically begging me to fly my sweet looking frost wyrm over it! I also run around the grassy area by the Violet Citadel and in front of the south (Alliance) bank in Dalaran.
That’s a hawkstrider (unless you’re talking about the mechanical one) and it’s the blood elf racial mount, which means that Wolkie can’t get one since he’s Alliance.
Now, the mechanical one is the gnome racial mount, the mechanostrider, and you can buy them in Dun Morogh, right outside Kharanos in Steelgrill’s Depot (IF you’re a gnome or you’re Exalted with Gnomeregan faction).
I ran Sethekk Halls for the first time with my rogue last night. It was like a constant furball of fighting and all of us getting chain feared and so on. There was one fight where two people died, I was at like 1% hp and everyone was yelling KILL THE TOTEM which I did just in time, and we didn’t wipe.
It reminded me of the crazy fights in City of Heroes, cause we were fighting hordes of these enemies. I love being a combat rogue in a huge fight plowing through the enemies, hitting blade fury and killing spree.
I also got a nice 71.7 dps mace from the last boss.
Ding on 52. Got the quest for killing those mobs where you have to destroy the binding stone. Going to save that one till im at least halfway through level 57 as the last thing i do b4 going through the portal. Back in Felwood for now.
Actually, Alliance can get a hawkstrider out of Sunwell, but… Well, it’s sunwell. Good luck trying to find folks to do it.
(Explanation: Sunwell was / is a level 70 questing area that, before LK, was super-over-populated. Now, no one goes there. The instances there were a standard instance, which wasn’t too bad if you knew the strategies, and a ghodawful long raid that, while cool, was insanely difficult for the level.)
Yraeg, the level 11 Troll Priest, is now the newest member of the Burning Dog Legion…so if you could all hold off on *doing *anything while I level up 69 more times, I’d really appreciate it…
Hey, cool. What will you be speccing as? I joined the BDL the other day too, as Chauli the lvl 9 orc lock. (I’m so little my imp can tank for me! :D) I’ve been told by several people that aff is the best leveling spec so I"ll be figuring out the life of a non-healy clothy as I go.
Is that the white hawkstrider? I helped a friend get it off Kael on 5man H. It’s easy enough to duo or even three man, tough to solo due to some of the trickier pulls especially the ones before the priestess and her minions. So you don’t even need a full group for it, just a friend or two who’re willing to spend half an hour with you.
My priest hates Auchindoun, by the way. Terribad pugs with players who’ve mysteriously forgotten how a group works. :smack:
Why do you say that? Holy priests still get 25% of their spirit added to Spellpower, and I understood it is a big factor in mana regen. Is that no longer true? I’ve also heard that in Cat, Spirit will be even more important for mana regen.
I plan to make this guy a healer, so I’ll be leveling either Holy or Disc. I know ‘everyone’ says you should just level as Shadow and then respec later, but I figure it’s better to level the spec you plan to play, so you don’t need to learn ‘on the job’ at higher level.
I have a Holy Priest on another server (level 36 at the moment), so I might go Disc for this one, just so it’s different. I plan to dual spec Holy/Disc in the end for maximum flexibility in healing…
Look me up in-game if you’d like; I can always use someone to help keep me alive
In any case, with the dungeon finder (and xp from battlegrounds) I don’t know that that CW really applies any more. You no longer need to solo-quest your way up through the levels; it’s fully practical to run up the levels mainly by running instances, and that’s easier to accomplish if you’re a healer than a DPS spec.
That’s right - my holy paladin just hit 50, and before the DF was introduced it would have been pretty crazy to try to level a paladin with a holy spec.
Before RDF, my priest leveled as shadow exclusively, and rather quickly (they’re super-efficient mob killers). When I started playing again at level 70, the RDF made it extremely easy to do instance runs and BGs were giving great exp, so I dual-specced disc. It wasn’t very hard to learn (lolbubblespam) and it was great jumping in with a full toolbox, so to speak, instead of waiting till level 30 or so before you’re really truly an effective healer. Plan on being the #1 focus target in BGs though, assuming your opponents aren’t complete scrubs. Rogues and warriors make me cry.
Oooh, good point. My mage recently picked up the Glyph of Molten Armor: “Your Molten Armor grants an additional 20% of your Spirit as critical strike rating.”
Kene has around 1000 Spirit, so that’s +250 spellpower right there. Nothing to sneeze at! I was just reading that Spirit becomes more important for mana regen for Shamans in Cataclysm; I don’t know if that will apply to other classes as well. I plan on rolling a goblin shaman when I can
I haven’t read up on what to gem as or what stats to stack on as a priest. So far, I have a single set of gear I use in both shadow and disc specs, and I’m stacked heavily into spirit (something like 1100 or 1200 with my spirit buff up, though my INT and STA are around 1000 as well, the sta boost thanks to my PVP gear). I can chain-kill mobs in shadow without ever going below 90% mana, and I haven’t had any problems with mana regen healing heroics in disc spec, even with crazy impatient tanks (then again, I don’t contribute much to DPS – I’m not that comfortable with healing yet). I think my SP hovers around 1800-2000 depending on what spec I’m in.
