Unless he’s living overseas, you could still do it. When I was travelling a lot my wife and I would meet in WoW every evening. She’d be on her computer at home and I’d be on my laptop in my hotel room, but we could still quest together.
Epic flying mount question: are those swift Armored Gryphons in Dalaran (and in that dwarf keep in Shadowmoon Valley, Outland) the only purchaseable epic flying mounts (for Alliance, anyway)? I haven’t seen any others, though granted I haven’t yet been to Icecrown or Stormpeaks yet.
I was playing one of my toons (a nelf druid) tonight on the Grizzly Hills server, which must be a “newish” server because the population is almost always listed as “low”. The druid is an herbalist, and at the AH every time she posts herbs and undercuts the competition, she’s seeing prices that are barely above the vendor prices. I wonder if this is just a function of the server being “new” and low-population, combined with a lot of newbies who saw the server listed as “Recommended”, and as newbies they just haven’t figured out the AH or installed Auctioneer…
They’re the only ones you can buy outright with no other prerequisites than Artisan Flying. Most others require either reputation with a certain faction or creating it through a profession or some other requirement. See here for details.
And non-quest: several of the items in my recently-80 tank and recently-80-but-already-in-Naxx healer are from non-heroics. Instead of making the loot tables for heroics be “the same as for regular but with more stuff,” they’ve made the loot tables different. There’s a tanking trinket in normal HoL that’s in the wishlist of… uhm… pretty much any tank which doesn’t have it yet.
Julian lives here in Georgia, and I get to see him very infrequently, but when he’s here (he doesn’t have WoW at home), he plays my toon, and it’s like “poetry in motion” to watch!
He also has his own toon (Thundre).
He’s a little Geek with those glasses and those flying fingers, but he’s my little Geek, and his Opa loves him whole bunches!
I am teaching him some chords, and we also shoot hoops together.
(Just didn’t want y’all to think we only played WoW when he’s here!))

Here’s a link: http://current.com/items/90161746_all-violent-video-games-to-be-banned-in-germany.htm
Considering I am half-kraut myself, and having been born just after WWII with its violent history, I don’t see this going through, do y’all?

My pally is a tailor and so will be making herself a flying carpet ![]()
Just out of curiosity, that vendor in Dalaran who sells the gryphons, bears, and mammoths - do Horde toons visit the same vendor but see/get offered wyverns instead of gryphons, or is there a different vendor elsewhere in the city who sells Horde-specific flyers?
You may be half-kraut, Quasi, but I’ve never seen you be a sour kraut!
She sells wind riders to the horde.
Thanks jayjay.
You and my other friends here are a big reason for that.

Reported the post above this one. I know mods aren’t supposed to modify what posters have said, but that one should be completely deleted, pretty please with sugar and my copy of WotLK on top.
Reported by me, too. Spam and illegal (or at least against game TOS) services.
<looks around sleepily>
Wha …? WhatdidImiss?
A Chinese gold seller and level-you-upper, Rik.
Wanna hear an “Only you, Quasi” Story?
A couple of nights ago I helped an elf with some Gore-Tusks. That elf eventually died, and I felt so bad because he/she couldn’t loot the Tusks we killed that I sent them 50 silver.
Well, guess who I sent that silver to, Kids?
Right, a damn gold-seller. He/she answered me, thanking me for the money and then gave me a code where I could buy “X” amount of gold for “X” amount of USD.
:smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack::smack:
I think I’m gonna go play my Rogue for a change…

Looks Like I have the thread to myself tongight?
(I come here while healing to see what’s new)
Looks like I’m running low on quests that I can do at Level 23.
The Blackrock Orcs are out because that one takes me to the Burning Steppes and those ?? level guys.
The Hermit one is out because I keep running into That behemoth who ALSO has ?? as a level.
The Dwarven District wants to send me to Dun Morgogh for robot parts, and I would do that quest, only I get hopelessly lost in Iron Forge and if I have to go through the snow, I can never find my way through.
There’s one quest in Lakeshire left, but that guy wants me to get drunk and complete the quest in an hour. I tried that, and shit, it liked to took me forever to sober up.
So I’m “grinding” my level in Moonbrook, killing Defias troops and delving ever deeper into the DM’s, but not as part of a group.
I’m playing my Rogue Blood Elf Tanus, but he’s only a 2 and I like Wolkie better.
Just venting…

The quests with the orcs in Redridge Mountains don’t require you to enter Burning Steppes. You can do that quest with mobs that are all in Redridge. You don’t go into Burning Steppes until after the area near there with the orc camp.
That’s a dungeon quest, anyway, for Gnomeregan, which is a lvl 30+ 5-man (just like Deadmines proper are a 16-20ish 5-man).
Okay, jayjay. I’ll head to Red Ridge once more, thanks!
Let’s see …
• I just reached 1500 quests completed tonight ![]()
• I’m rather enjoying the Howling Fjord quests, even if I am 8-10 levels higher than they are (gotta do 'em if I want that Loremaster title someday).
• w00t! I’m now Revered with the Kalu’ak, which I discovered entitles me to purchase some cool gear. I was able to make major upgrades to my polearm and my chest armor when I talked to the Kalu’ak quartermaster in Howling Fjord. Now I gotta go for Exalted because I want that damned fishing pole!
• Now that I’ve upgraded my armor and my polearm (and also bought a scroll to enchant the polearm with Fiery Weapon) I guess I’ll go for my fourth or fifth attempt at that Last Rites quest.
• Sigh. Wearing a clown suit again.
• I’ve gotten 2-hand sword and polearm skills up to 400, and 2-hand maces at 399. 1-hand sword skill is at 386, I think. Won’t be long before I have that Weaponmaster achievement I’ve been working toward since lvl 1 ![]()
Congrats, Mister Rik!
I’m still chippin’ away at mine, but having a great time.

Yeah, not so much. Even epic ilvl 200 gear isn’t sufficient to be a major contribution in Ulduar. For one, the tanks will have a woefully low health pool and as such won’t be able to take the hits they’ll be required to take. The healers will lack sufficient throughput, let alone mana regeneration to heal these fights because the dps won’t have enough, well, dps to kill the boss. Even if I assumed you could do it inside the enrage timer (if there is one), there’s no reason to think that either the tanks or healers would be able to absorb/mitigate or heal through damage being done for anything near the enrage time, and there are good reasons, indeed, to think otherwise.
To suggest that 50 extra MP5 for a healer doesn’t make the suddenly easier somehow indicates a lack of understanding of what it is that makes the healers go. Essentially, it’s mana - how much they start with, and how much they can optimally regenerate per unit time while still meeting their throughput requirements. In long fights, 50 MP5 is essentially the difference between having the mana to cast the next required heal, or not. This is being felt even more severely since the recent mana regeneration nerfs. Most directly has this nerf considerably changed the entire mechanics of the Holy Priest, and to a lesser extent, Trees of Life.
Essentially, it’s this: 50 more MP5 is 600 mana every minute, which when taken in conjunction with a judicious use of cooldowns, gives me an extra free greater heal every other minute, plus a free heal every third minute from Inner Focus. So, in a six minute fight, I can have 5 free greater heals, which is on average 135,000 healing done, for free. Of course I regenerate mana much faster than that, but for each increase in 50 MP5 I can get, I gain 1 extra greater heal every other minute. Or about 1 free flash heal per minute. Or an extra prayer of healing every 140 seconds, which can conceivably heal upwards of 70,000 hit points in one cast. This is hardly trivial. Of course, this argument completely leaves out that as a Holy Priest, my MP5 is spirit based, thus having the added bonus of upping my sheer throughput by a factor of .25 per new unit of spirit. This all in addition to my mana regeneration.
2,000 extra hit points is also not trivial. How many wipes in a raid happen because the tank just didn’t have the health pool to take two big blows back to back? 2,000 extra health really goes a long way in helping in those situations. Or, you can think of it is a free 2,000 healing done 100% of the time against a tank who has 2,000 fewer hit points.
Even being fully epicced out in mostly ilvl 200 gear from Naxx, OS, and Malygos will not really lend itself well to having a successful healer or tank for almost any of the fights in Ulduar. Granted, Ulduar has been nerfed quite a bit since its launch, at least in normal modes anyway; the ilvl 200 gear isn’t sufficient for either a tank or healer. Even with a decent smattering of ilvl 213 gear the fights will extremely hard, if not altogether impossible.
Assuming gearing simply from heroics (which carry the same ilvl, but are of rare quality in some cases, and epic in others), Ulduar fights beyond Flame Leviathan are going to prove quite unworkable. Well, there’s a caveat there, I suppose: if only one trivial position in the raid is taken up by such a poorly geared toon, then it’s still possible assuming that the remaining members are extremely well-geared.
