World Overcomers?

Hi,
There is this Christian organization that bought out this bar we used to have. They are called the W.O.M or World Overcomers Ministries. I like to know about differing “factions” of faith based organizations and especially if they are legitimate.

I have to say that in most cases I let sleeping dogs lie (or surprise us and tell the truth :slight_smile: sorry) but this particular organization has bouncer-sized men with dark shades and all the windows in this place is limo-tinted dark as well. Sometimes, large cars show up at this place also dark-tinted. And from mere observation it appears to be primarily black. That is not to pass any judgement, it was an observation only.

So I had to wonder more and more what these people are about. They do have a website, but as you might guess it doesn’t tell you alot and gives you plenty of chances to support/donate money to them. In a time of so many are crying “Give us your money and we will get you healed” this shouldn’t surprise me, but the amount of in-your-face incognito displays they make really makes me unashamed to pick at this scab.

What are these people about? And why all the sneaking around for a “Christian Ministry”?

Are they still operating it as a bar? Even with the bouncers, is it possible to enter if you’re not a WOMmy?

No, I don’t believe it’s being used for a bar…but with tinted windows how am I to speculate. Like my OP says, I’ve been to their website already; I just don’t even see a mission statement in there anywhere and when I googled I got a few results that tied them in with drug rehab and such.

As far as not being a member and going there, I was too intimidated I must say. It’s hard even to think about going to church in a typical black church, much less a place where there are large men stationed out front staring at you the same way. But to be frank I can say that I did not receive any kind of invitation or welcome by them nor did I feel welcome being there. Only the distinct impression that I was “lost”.

So nobody knows anything about them?
