World's Greatest Dad ending (spoilers!)

I’m looking for a spoiler to the ending of the movie the World’s Greatest Dad with Robin Williams. I was watching it and found it too dark for my family and me, and I doubt I’ll ever get to watch the whole thing by myself. I’m still curious about how it ends.

I’ve gotten to the point where

the son has died and Lance has written the suicide note. The son starts to become more and more popular. Lance has shared the brownies with his neighbor (the pack rat). I think the last thing I saw was where he hands the Goth girl the CD and says it was his son’s favorite.

I would love a summary of the movie from that point on, but I would be happy to find out

  1. Does the teacher end up with him or with the other English teacher?
  2. If not him, who does Lance end up with?
  3. Does the pack rat neighbor play any sort of significant role after they share the brownies?
  4. Does Lance become a published author?
  5. Is there a happy ending of any sort?

Thanks for your help!

Spoilers- naturally.

Williams’ character gets the diary published goes on a talk show, and becomes a small celebrity. The ending is that after realizing he’s just become a lying douche (he snaps at his son’s friend who starts to suspect the truth and blows off the neighbor lady) at a dedication ceremony for the school’s new library (named in honor of his son) he is about to make a speech when he reveals the truth to everyone. Feeling free of his burden he runs down the hallfway of the school, strips naked and jumps in the pool (to tune of “Under Pressure”)-yes you see Robin Williams’ penis ever so briefly.

The movie ends with he, the neighbor lady and his son’s friend sitting down to watch a movie together.

Thanks! It sounds like it’s fine that I missed the last quarter or third of the movie.
