Not the oldest in the world, but my town has a movie theater that’s been in continuous operation since 1916. I’m hoping they’re planning some kind of event for their hundredth anniversary.

I loved the recreations of the movies - I wish all of his original movies were still extant, I love well made silent movies.
While most of his films are probably gone forever, a lot have been found in various places. The best count is that he made 553 films (most of them quite short). Something like 200 of them are known to still exist:
