Did those mean old Democrats hurt your widdle feewings? Well grow a pair, you fucking cow. The only think more disgusting than the (probably staged) little stunt of Alito’s crybaby wife sobbing for the cameras and leaving the room has been the way the Republicans (and Fox News) have tried to to play this up and milk it as though it has the slightest bearing on the hearings. Jesus Christ. Whatever happened to shame?
Aw crap. Could I get a mod to fix the typos in my thread title please?
What gets me is that Graham ® was the one speaking at the time. Why is everyone blaming the Democrats? Graham is the one that made her cry.
Done.
This is a good example of an incredibly childish person acting in an incredibly childish manner.
You don’t know jack shit about Alito’s wife, and you find it justified to both call her a liar and a cow in the same paragraph?
You know Alito wasn’t all that much of a public figure before all of this. If this had come from Barbara Bush I’d have been like “yeah right” her husband has been a major public figure under national scrutiny since the 1970s.
But Alito isn’t in that boat and it’s hard for people to adjust to so much media scrutiny when they aren’t professional politicians.
Most people can’t take the limelight without cracking, let alone someone who’s got no experience with it and has had it come at them fairly suddenly.
Honestly, cut her some slack. Why assume the worst of her? If you’re not prepared for this sort of thing – and there’s no reason to suppose she is – it’s got to be goddamned stressful. I’d rather pit Graham for his, “Judge Alito, I am sorry that you’ve had to go through this. I am sorry that your family has had to sit here and listen to this.” That’s some grade-A smarm right there.
Thanks, Skip.
Because DtC hates Republicans, they’re all liars and they don’t deserve any respect as human beings.
Of course he has no idea if Alito’s wife is a GOPer or not, but she’s married to one so that’s enough for him to pull out the invective and the vitriol.
He’s a sad person who doesn’t understand the meaning of the term “civility.”
Grahm was just putting the lame dog down, the damage was already done.
When you see someone cry like this, it’s not because it’s staged, it’s because SHE knows the actual man being questioned and found it highly offensive to her.
She doesn’t need to grow a pair…just being there for her husband was enough.
Cite?
That’s really charming, Dio.
And you keep showing yourself to be nothing but another fucking ignorant, partisan cumdrip.
Thre was nothing unfair, extraordinary or offensive about the questions. She’s just a grandstanding cow.
I’m not partisan. I’m an independent. I have never belonged to any political party. The Republicans trying to make hay out the crying wife is cheap and tawdry and shameless.
And if this was the wife of a Demoratic appointee, they’d all be mocking her.
I’m not sure people would appreciate me putting 17,000 links in one post.
I’d rather pit the whole ridiculous politicized process. The entire process is grandstanding for the cameras and has next to nothing to do with actually deciding whether or not to approve Alito.

Did anyone bother to check the old gal’s purse for capsaicin?
Wow, that’s really clever. Citing this very thread. You can’t find a cite because I’ve never said that and you’re a fucking liar.
What damage was done? Alito refused to admit that he had listed CAP on his resume solely to boost his conservative credentials when applying for a job in the Reagan administration in 1985. Apparently, he felt it was worse to admit to being an opportunist, than to remain silent and suffer guilt by association. No one suggested that he even knew what CAP stood for, much less held bigoted views. Graham was dishonest to suggest otherwise, he is the one who made her cry. Put the blame where it belongs.
