Worst advertising for movies.

Serving Sara. The ads made it out to be a comedy with Bruce Campbell (Ash!) as the domineering Texan husband of Liz Hurley (hot!), who hires Matthew Perry (decent, but funny in Whole Nine Yards) to track him down.

Turned out to be a mostly relationship-driven half comedy with one gross-out gag.

I got the impression that it was a spoof scene of The Matrix, but whatever. I actually like it when trailer jokes aren’t in the film itself, because I feel the same way as CaptBushido (to a point).

The trailer for Chicken Run also gave away the ending.

That’s too bad. I was really looking forward to seeing that movie.

On a similar note, I thought it was really interesting how they sort of did the reverse in the trailers for Sleepy Hollow. They set it up as some kind of Early American mystery with a rational explanation and a completely human villain (“The assassin is a man of flesh and blood and I will discover him.”), but in the end it turns out there really is a headless horseman of supernatual origin. That was pretty clever of them, I thought.
