Worst Band In The World To Cover A Song By The Who On Upcoming Album

No, no, no. The worst cover is Billy Idol’s techno version of Velvet Underground’s “Heroin” off perhaps the worst album of the 90s by a “major” artist, Cyberpunk.

Really, this album redefines “suck.”

Hey, I like Tori Amos!

And I totally want to hear Avril’s version of Chop Suey, but kind of in a visit to the Wax Museum of Oddities kind of way.

Pat Boone doing Crazy Train? im gonna buy this album.

i was unfortunate enough to here Billy Idols version of heroin too pulykamell. thanks for reminding me. i thought i’d cleaned my brain of that one, but not now.

INFIDEL!!!

I’m sorry, not even Pat Boone’s metal album can outdo The Flying Pickets’ a cappella version of Smells Like Teen Spirit.

But as to Who songs, the nice folks at The Covers Project list the following which may or may not suck:

Baba O’Reilly by Mr Big, Dread Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, and Those Darn Accordians
Behind Blue Eyes by Skrewdriver (British neo-nazi band)
I Can See For Miles by Tina Turner
I Can’t Explain by The Scorpions
My Generation by Oasis, Van Halen, and Little Angels
Pinball Wizard by Petula Clark, and Thunder
Squeeze Box by Laura Brannigan (of Gloria fame)

Dread Zeppelin rocks, I’ll say that much.

Haha…I have a test pressing of a 12" with four covers of that song. I thought, well maybe ONE of them might be cool. Geez…each version sucked more than the last.

The worst cover of a song I like would have to be the Chili Peppers version of The Stooges “Search and Destroy” off the Iggy Pop tribute album.

Jon

He’s better off sticking to his own material.

None of you have ever seen Moulin Rouge.

All For One- did the Tymes’ “So Much in Love” & compouded the craziness w/ “Could This Be Magic” (originally- the Dubs.)

Herman’s Hermits-Sam Cooke’s “Wonderful World.” & Rays’ “Silhouettes”

Woops-these weren’t by the Who.

Rolf Harris doing a cover of Stairway to Heaven to the tune of his one big hit, Tie Me Kangaroo Down, complete with flexing “wiffleboard.”

(Actually, I like that version, best version I’ve ever heard. Never was a Led Zepplen fan.)

How about this?

It’s actually a hoot.

That’s the same link **GMRyujin[/n] posted that, spooje.
