Worst Band In The World To Cover A Song By The Who On Upcoming Album

My friend just sent me this link on MSN.

Apparently Limp Bizkit are covering The Who’s ‘Behind Blue Eyes’ on their upcoming album.

Eh…

Can’t hardly wait.

Don’t be silly, it would have to be Insan Clown Possie covering Magic Bus to be the worst band in the world Who Cover.

shudders

Also, the direction in which this thread is going put an image into my head of Britney Spears covering, say, “My Generation.”

“…and I blame you…”

I wouldn’t put it past Britney; she’s already wrecked a couple of similar songs. At least it’s not N*Sync.
Okay, actually, this is just as bad.

How about Tori Amos covering “Baba O’”?

I can hear it now (in fact it won’t stop):

tATu covering “Squeeze Box”

I’m a bit confused.

Since the previous posters to this thread seem to have a hatred that borders on the vicious for certain artists, which to me implies that you never listen to them, then why would said artists doing a cover of a Who song get you all bent out of shape?

You don’t listen to the artist that did the cover, because you hate them, right? And it’s money going into Pete Townshend’s pockets, (not that he needs any more), so what’s to get all hot and bothered about?

Ahem.

Muldoon’s Squishiness nobody has shown a ‘‘hatred that borders on the vicious’’ in this thread, except in the thread title.

I’m just mildly annoyed that a band so utterly devoid of talent as Limp Bizkit is going to mutilate a song by one of my favorite bands.

That’s all.

Well, Avril Lavigne covered System of a Down’s ‘Chop Suey’. Never before have I heard a song so tortured.

Not yet heard her version of Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door?

How about Guns 'n Roses cover of “Live and Let Die”? Or Dally Partons covers of “Time for me to Fly” and “Stairway to Heaven” or how about the Golden Throats collections which include such gems as Shatner’s cover of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and Lenard Nimoy’s cover of “Proud Mary.” You really should expand your music horizons, I think.

Ah! Stop it!

I always thought the Guns ‘n’ Roses cover of Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door was the worst.

You are kidding me. I think that’s one instance where I would have liked to remain blissfully ignorant.

Well, I like the Guns and Roses versions of Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, Live and Let Die, and Sympathy for the Devil. There, now I’ve lost all my cool indie credibility. However, I can top you all with a mere link:

Abandon All Hope Ye Who Enter Here

GMRyujin, you win. Or at least, you’re up there.

You have, of course, heard Vanilla Fudge’s rendition of “Light MY Fire”? (Or of almost anything, actually.)

Or how about the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s rendition of “Satisfaction”? (Ha, just kidding. Well, I hope I’m just kidding.)

Clearly none of you has considered the horror of Michael Jackson covering The Fugs’ “Dirty Old Man.”

I thought her cover of “Stairway to Heaven” was better than the original. That’s not saying much, though.

Know what would be awesome? Britney Spears covering Captain Beefheart.

Or Leonard Nimoy’s cover of anything, really.

That’s the disturbing part! It’s plausible!
