I’m a bit confused.
Since the previous posters to this thread seem to have a hatred that borders on the vicious for certain artists, which to me implies that you never listen to them, then why would said artists doing a cover of a Who song get you all bent out of shape?
You don’t listen to the artist that did the cover, because you hate them, right? And it’s money going into Pete Townshend’s pockets, (not that he needs any more), so what’s to get all hot and bothered about?

I’m just mildly annoyed that a band so utterly devoid of talent as Limp Bizkit is going to mutilate a song by one of my favorite bands.

How about Guns 'n Roses cover of “Live and Let Die”? Or Dally Partons covers of “Time for me to Fly” and “Stairway to Heaven” or how about the Golden Throats collections which include such gems as Shatner’s cover of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” and Lenard Nimoy’s cover of “Proud Mary.” You really should expand your music horizons, I think.

Well, I like the Guns and Roses versions of Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, Live and Let Die, and Sympathy for the Devil. There, now I’ve lost all my cool indie credibility. However, I can top you all with a mere link:
