LONDON (AP) - A drunken soldier sparked a security alert when he left a costume party dressed as a suicide bomber, wearing a turban, false beard and a combat jacket stuffed with pretend explosives, British police said Friday. Fifteen police squad cars, armed officers, dog handlers and members of the Royal Military Police were called to the alert. The soldier, a member of the Coldstream Guards who had been attending a costume party celebrating his regiment’s role in the 1815 battle of Waterloo, was arrested and spent the night in custody. He was charged with a public order offense and fined around $150, police said.
I guess there are no official charges in England for “being the biggest prat in the universe?”
Of course, yo would totally expect all suicide bombers to walk around London dressed up like…er…suicide bombers!
Al-Qaeda is supposed to be the most sophistocated, well prepared, organised and meticualous terrorist organisation in the world, its supposed to be extremely patient and singular in its determination and the reason we absolutely have to crush it even if we need to trample our own freedoms to do it.
London around this time of year, even more so than other times of year, has loads of lunatics wandering around dressed in all manner of wierd stuff, behaving in most unlikely manners and often in unseemly activities.
It really sounds like a massive overreaction to me, all the guy needed was to wear an snadwich board saying “I am a mad ass suicidal terrorist with bombs strapped around by body” on the front and " Lookin’ good for 72 virgins" on the back board and the ludicrous picture would have been complete.
