Didn’t they say at one point that a symbiote in a new host stayed away from anyone the previous host was married to?
The producers felt they needed a woman because Farrell leaving left Nana Visitor as the only female main character. But it seemed like there was a quota on having a Trill character with Ezri Dax
Yeah, but didn’t stop Jadzia from hooking up with her former wife and Ezri hooking up with Worf.
I think there could have been a better way of getting another female character (beyond Keiko and Leeta). The Pah-wraiths killed Jadzia. I can see that the shock would have been enough to kill her symbiont. And I’m still mad at Terry Farrell…it was one more year! Suck it up! You get to canoodle with Michael Dorn, for Q’s sake!
She did have the opportunity to go to “Becker” where she was for four years as opposed to DS9 which pretty much had one year left. She has said she was interested in a recurring role but the Star Trek people were not. Since she left “Becker” motherhood has primarily been her career.
I wonder if “Star Trek Voyager” missed an opportunity from the beginning. The original premise was crews from the Federation and Maquis are stranded on the same ship 75 years away
from their quadrant. You’d think there would be more internal conflicts along the way with the crew split in two. But they quickly became a single crew.
