Worst working actors who are highly successful

I think the thread title is pretty clear. The only qualifications I’d like to add are to restrict yourself to performers whose primary occupation is acting–that is, Britney Spears’ performance in whatever that horrible movie she did a few years back does not qualify her–and to persons who are currently working–that is, have made a movie or TV show in the last 3 years.

Nominations?

David Caruso.

The worst actors ever:

Deborah Winger
Theresa Russell
Scott Glen

Keanu Reeves
Kevin Costner

Seriously, Caruso is the worst. He is worse than Cruise or Keanu. This is what I just posted this morning.

I’ll second Keanu Reeves

This reminds me of an old thread on the Razzies forum - make up the worst remakes! Someone there came up with the following gem: Citizen Kane starring Keanu Reeves.
Whoa…Rosebud.

I assume you mean besides Tom Cruise right?

Bonnie Franklin.

Naomi Watts
Jon Voight
Toby McGuire (stop looking like you have to take a dump all the time)
Michael Cera (thought George Michael was a brilliant character until I realized he wasn’t acting)
Vin Diesel

He must, otherwise there would be no thread.

Keanu Reeves doesn’t have any great skill, but it’s pretty obvious to me why he’s still getting work. By all accounts, he’s a nice guy and doesn’t act like a dick on set. He, or his agent, mainly choose roles that are well within his limited range (he did just fine in Speed, The Matrix, and The Replacements, not to mention the Bill and Ted movies, Parenthood, and he was watchable in Point Break), and he’s really freaking pretty. I mean, objectively, he’s really, really pretty.

There are much, much worse actors currently working–like, what happened to David Caruso? I seem to recall him being pretty good in Session 9, but I was unfortunate enough to catch an episode of CSI: Miami, and watching him caused me physical pain.

Thank you. I like Keanu Reeves. I grew up seeing him in both Bill & Ted movies, Dracula, Point Break, Speed, The Devil’s Advocate, and The Matrix. Yeah, none of those were Palm d’Or nominees but they were good movies for what they were trying to be. I can think of few other actors who were in as many movies I loved in my formative years.

I didn’t realize she had done anything in the last 3 years.

Andie MacDowell.

Patricia Arquette and Nicolas Cage

Jeff Goldblum

Holy crap, yes. Without her, Groundhog Day might have aspired to mediocrity, but she made it unwatchable.

I also cannot stand Keanu. When he’s cast as a clueless doofus, he nails it; when he’s cast in any other part, suspension of disbelief catches on fire and falls into the river.

Tom Cruise, though I wanna hate, but he has a knack for disapppearing into roles AFAIAC. I think he’s actually a pretty decent actor.

Daniel

Andie Macdowell is your winner. Simply awful.

I’m not a big fan of Cameron Diaz either. She isn’t the worst actress working but she isn’t very good either.

I’m also starting to wonder if Scarlett Johansson has any actual talent. The girl with the pearl earring seems to be a major fluke

Kate Hudson is mildly attractive but doesn’t have a lick of acting talent. She also has a shitty agent apparently.

I’ll stand up for Tom Cruise though, he may be insane but he’s a decent actor (cite: Magnolia, Born on the Forth of July, I also thought he was good in collateral) and whether you like him or not, he usually makes pretty entertaining movies.

YES. She’s usually my first choice in these threads, I can’t believe I forgot. Scarlett suuuuuucks.
