18 years possibly 19.
That seems to defeat the benefits of everyone living to 150 if I get out of the deal in 20 years so I think I would not accept it with your conditions.

I’m just a simple girl, so I’m happy to play the Xander Harris role here… I’m not getting past the immediate thought “paradise doesn’t have human sacrifice”.
And of course most people would agree to it. Most people suck.
DianaG, I applaud you. I had never thought of it in those terms. You are correct. My version of paradise would never have human sacrifice.
People would vote for it without hesitation; the people who are being sacrificed, well, that’s their problem.
Personally I’d explore just how ‘nigh’ his omnipotence is, get some scientific explanations. Then kill him. Imagine how stagnant society would become. No progession, no advancement, nothing to aim for; it’s all been done for you. No incentive for humanity to better itself. I’d make exploring possibilities to explain his powers and facilitate his death a priority.
There’s a version of this Modest Proposal in the Whedonverse. Of course.
Angel’s “granddaughter” Jasmine offered worldwide peace & plenty. But she ate people every day. The numbers would still have been good; many lives would have been saved & we never heard the victims scream.
However, Angel, *et al., *rejected the offer. And won control of the LA branch of Wolfram & Hart! (This was re-run just yesterday.)
That’s exactly what I was thinking of when I started the thread; I saw that rerun too.
The difference, of course, is that Jasmine used a magic illusion to take away everyone’s free will, and to make herself look like Zoe from Firefly. Once freed of the illusion, people immediately were repelled by her.
