Just a feeler thread - I’m not promising to actually start it, and if anyone else wants to take the lead, feel free. But the Beatles, Stones, and Rush Madness threads made me interested in this.
Maybe #1 seeds of Stairway, Whole Lotta Love, Kashmir, and Immigrant Song?
What about Black Dog? Rock and Roll? Dazed and Confused? Communication Breakdown?
All could be “higher seeded” than immigrant song. Okay, maybe not communications breakdown. But that’d be about on par with it.
Considering their rather limited output, if I do this, I might reduce it to a field of 48 - I just don’t want to throw every single track in - I count 82 total studio tracks released from Zeppelin I through CODA, including Travelling Riverside Blues. 48 is a really nice number to me - all wheat, no chaff.
And if anyone else starts it, feel free to select whatever #1s you want - I was trying to balance popularity with my own opinions - of my PERSONAL #1s, I’d have to seed at least 2 in the bottom half, because they’re either lesser known or later tracks…
