Would This Work? (Mutual Insurance Co)

OK, so here’s the plan. Mutual of Wherever is a mutual insurance company. Each year two (or so) of their ten (or so) Directors are elected by the policy holders. As in al such cases only a few people really vote. At the front desk of the company headquarters.

So I sell 217 policies to my best friends. We arrive by bus at 4.55 on the last day of voting and stuff the ballot box on the receptionist’s desk. Then I win two seats on the Board of Directors of hugely rich company.

Then I somehow aquire a headquarters in an extinct volcano and procede as usual.

Would this work?

In any organization of this type, the internal bylaws will state what has to be done to run in a shareholder election. Usually, you need to make your intentions known well ahead of time, and often, the slots are open to company insiders only.

Pooh!

So no Death Star?
