I think it looks really sexy, but it would void the warranty and I’d be scared of losing it. Also, if you were to make a case, take into account that the dimensions of iPods change with pretty much every new generation and a lot of people aren’t going to have the same iPod for more than a few years. Anyone that can afford a diamond-studded iPod probably upgrades every generation.
No… Its pointless and expensive. But from the looks of it your friend did the best job that they could do for someone who would actually want one… Not overdone and simplistic in design.
What was the cost on that total without labor? And what if he were to charge labor?
I wouldn’t buy one. First, as precious stones go, I don’t like diamonds. Second, I hate that bedazzled look for things. Third, I wouldn’t consider it a good use of money.
I agree with others that you’d be better off using fake stones, and marketing towards younger women.
It does look nice, better than I expected, but I wouldn’t see myself buying one.
I’ll be a voice of dissention - I really like the one you linked to, and (if I were in the market for such a thing) would definitely consider purchasing it. It definitely wasn’t what I expected, in a very good way. I expected something fully blinged out and over-the-top, disgustingly ostentatious, like in Tapioca’s link.
Yours is really nice, understated and elegant. I’d say you’d have a market. Take this all with a grain of salt, though - I’ve never owned an iPod and don’t have plans to buy one in the foreseeable future, so I couldn’t speak to how it’ll work under actual, daily use. There seems to be a huge market for iPod covers, obviously, so that’ll cut into any sales you might have.
I wouldn’t, but don’t be discouraged. We’re not your target market. Your audience here isn’t quite that. … ummm… [DEL]shallow[/DEL] sophisticated.
You’ll get your bids on eBay though.
The pictures show something far more tasteful than I expected. I thought it would look like that nasty bling, like when you see “jewel-encrusted” cellphones. But like everyone else here, I wouldn’t ever buy anything like that. Diamonds are a “forever” thing and iPods, cellphones, computers etc. are part of the universe of planned obsolescence.
An art gallery or something might like the piece though. It would make a neat object d’art rather than a practical MP3 player to be listened to.
