Does is it an illegal or immoral act? No. Does it violate typical society and workplace norms? Yes.
Unless he’s the head honcho or has some critical skill, this seems like a pretty foolish move to make at work. I’d expect him to get spoken to at least. Stuff like this likely makes his employer look for ways to get rid of him. If he surprises everyone with this, what’s next?
Isn’t nudity tolerated in general at St. Martin, though? I know it’s officially allowed at Orient Beach, but if someone gets nude elsewhere, the gendarmes usually won’t intervene unless someone else complains.
I did not look at the profile page of the OP poster on this, but I bet anything its a woman.
one between the ages of 20-30.
Only that demographic would get so upset over such a trivial thing and then feel compelled to post their feelings on an online forum.
LOL
FWIW…yeah, sure, he has the right to take his shirt off if there is no company policy forbidding it. Besides, women are the last ones to speak of offensive public body showing.
I am sick to death of…
women showing us their baby bumps with tight fitting shirts and even bare bellies. Hey…news flash! Ladies! We. Don’t. Care. That. You’re Preggers. We know its a big deal to you but women have been having babies literally forever. Its as rare and interesting to us as oxygen molecules. Cover up. What happened to the modesty of the old maternity dresses? This is a product of the “me generation.”
women breast feeding in public. Yeah yeah, you’re gonna say, “But it’s natural.”
And I am gonna say, “Yeah, and so is taking a dump. And I don’t do that in public.”
LOL
Fat women wearing baby-tees or other types of belly shirts that show us all their pale, flabby, disgusting midriff.
Do these women not have mirrors in their homes?
Somebody maybe can explain to me: If they do, how can they possibly look into one and see that gut and think, “yeah, this looks good, we’ll go with this today.”

In some European countries, workers will sunbathe in the park during lunch with some level of nudity. Totally accepted. But I believe it would not be tolerated if they tried to do the same back at the office.
Nudity is fine; my gf had her top off, as did the French woman. A Frenchman’s penis waving in my face is another thing altogether, especially when it happens following a discussion in a language I do not capisce.
ETA: I wish I had video of the “event”. I’m reclining, he’s standing right by my head.
Yes, and that is what PUBLIC spaces are for. Taking your shirt off on company property is a different story. I guess the policy manual needs to be updated for yet another thing you would think people should know already. :smack:
And there’s another dynamic at work here as well. About the whole “guy with no shirt on” thing. I won’t get into it now, for want of not straying too off-topic, but suffice it to say it ties-in with how many women also don’t like to see guys is speedos. And I’m talking even (especially?) fit, attractive, and slim men. It’s a strange deal on the surface but makes more sense when you think about it. A woman psych proff I had in undergrad school first told us about this deal.
Anyway, yeah…European women are SOO much more hip.
I used this thread as an inspiration today. We had one of the first nice days in the Boston area in 100 years or so it seems so I decided to take advantage of it. I went to a local lake beach, broke out my mobile lounger and just took my shirt off. It was just me posing freely with a blindingly white chest, my khakis and industrial Oxfords for all the world to see. I feel asleep fairly quickly only to be woken up a half hour later by a guy on a mountain bike that rode straight by me saying “Looking good!”. I said “Thanks man” before I fell asleep again.
I didn’t run into any coworkers but one of them is bound to show up someday because it is a small area with not much going on. Judging by some of the shit they say to me, it is not a big worry.
If you’re a heterosexual woman and have seen an attractive and fit man in a pair of tight speedos, you know the thoughts that entered, unbidden into your mind. Where on and in your body you felt what. And how you dealt with it. Some women deal with it by harboring and voicing resentment to the men who wear them. Claiming that they are forcing the women to have “non-appropriate” feelings.
As you know, women are ALL about owning their emotions. And they hate to have them pushed upon them, unbidden. Especially when said emotions conflict with their accepted and preferred opinions of themselves and their attitudes. And their preferences.
I have trouble believing a woman who says. “Ewwwwww.” And…“what. the. fuck.” about a guy with his shirt off in the sun in a place where its OK to do so…is well-adjusted and open minded concerning the male body in a public setting.
