Would you pay $50,000 for a cat?

That’s just disgusting.

I’m a pet owner, and would give most anything I own, or would ever own, to have my beloved pets back. I would have loved to have been able to get a pup from our Brit to raise.

Having said that, getting a posthumous clone for the purpose of getting the ‘identical’ animal back seems… icky, I believe was how one Doper put it. It doesn’t matter what the cost is: $5 or $50000. I agree, this woman has the right to do whatever she likes with her money, within the bounds of morality and legality. But it is not an option I’d consider. I’ll even go one step further, and say that I agree that she sounds like she’s been rooked. And is glad to have been rooked.

How does she know it’s a cloned cat anyway? How does she know she didn’t pay 50k for a fairly generic looking kitten?
