That’s exactly how I feel - as a wanna-be novelist, I’d rather be a Sharyn McCrumb than a Stephen King. I’m guessing she doesn’t have stalkers trying to get into her house on Halloween!
Unlimited supplies of money - I’d love it! I could make sure our Highland Games was never short of funds again, give more to my pet causes, and travel. DH swears he’s never moving again, though, so my dream of a Tudor-style house is probably shot to hell, no matter how much money we do or don’t have!
In the late 1980s I wrote songs for a Baltimore DJ who knew the Greaseman. The biggest radio pesonality in the region, Grease was reputed to be making around $400,000 a year. Nice money, but there are lawyers, doctors and executives making more than that who aren’t the least bit famous. And hiring stalker-proof security must eat up a big chunk of that.
