In France, pools and water parks won’t let you swim unless you’re wearing speedo-type swim wear. Very annoying, though at French beaches most people wear shorts thankfully.
No problem if paid.
Weirdly I’d actually feel far less self conscious naked, which I am happy enough to do for free.
Most people are weird. I couldn’t care less if I were masturbation fodder.
It would, however, be vanishingly unlikely
Yeah, I just got caught with this one - some of the parks we visited during our recent holiday had this rule. Fortunately it was end of season and I got away with my trunks.
However, I did find out why - the water parks and campsites get a tax break for being Green (Eco). A certain percentage of low energy light bulbs, recycling bins, that sort of thing. Since processed water gets trapped in swimsuits, and shorts hold much more water than speedos, the rule is speedos only to save water (think several thousand swimmers per day in high season taking water out of the pool). And there are inspectors for such things, apparently. Fortunately, there is no such rule for women - in general those that do wear acres of swimsuit, probably should (although I also saw plenty that should have and didn’t ).
Of course, to go to the logical extreme and save the most water - they should mandate naked swimming, which is still common further north in europe.

Are we talking full on budgie-smuggling banana hammocks?
I have just bought a pair of speedo jammers… they are like cycling shorts, so don’t leave much to the imagination, but they do cover down to near the knees so they feel a bit less exposed.
I would wear it, but I would be very careful about bending over for both my and your sake.
