I recently had a surgery to take out some hidradenitis suppurativa (not sure on spelling) which is an infection of the apocrine sweat glands in my under arm. It would heal a bit for 4 months (not diabetic either) and the doc suggested a would vac. The would itself is about the size of a dvd cover, and while the first dressing hurt like no other the previous two were not so bad due to the use of some white sponges.
Now, they have used something called RENEW which is a white mesh like material, with the dreaded black sponge on top of it. My question is, has anyone had experience with this white mesh material ? Did it hurt to take off ? Reason why Im asking is when I got my first dressing change, it hurt so bad I blacked out from the pain. Thanks in advance !
